Allergen-specific Immunotherapy (ASIT) in cats

چکیده
A well proven treatment protocol, which has been published in similar form many times, is used. Initially, the dosage is gradually increased on a weekly basis, then constant dose rates are injected subcutaneously. After reaching the maintenance dose the injections are applied in 2-4 week intervals. In veterinary medicine, the ASIT is recommended as at least 1 year lasting or even lifelong therapy since experience shows that recrudescence often develops after discontinuation of therapy. A strict monitoring of the patients is also recommended in order to adapt the injection interval or dose rate if necessary.

DermAll nanomedicine for allergen-specific immunotherapy.
UNLABELLED Allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT) the only disease-modifying treatment for IgE-mediated allergies is characterized with long treatment duration and high risk of side effects. We investigated the safety, immunogenicity and efficacy of a novel ASIT, called DermAll, in an experimental allergic rhinitis model. We designed and characterized DermAll-OVA, a synthetic plasmid pDNA/PEIm ...
متن کاملIncreased allergen-specific IgG4 levels are linked to suppressed IgE titers when analysed by ISAC but not by immunocap
Allergen specific immunotherapy (ASIT) is the only disease modifying treatment of allergic diseases. A key element in the protective effect is thought to be induction of a specific IgG4 response leading to a decrease in the IgE-mediated allergic symptoms. The effect of ASIT can be ascertained by provocation or skin prick testing. IgE measurement by ImmunoCAP is a sensitive standard procedure fo...
متن کاملLong-term efficacy of allergen specific immunotherapy in atopic dermatitis patients
Background Atopic dermatitis (AD) is an inflammatory, chronically relapsing, and highly pruritic skin disorder that considerably effects patients’ life. As the aeroallergens are relevant eliciting factors of not only respiratory allergy but also AD, allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT) seems to be a curative therapy option in treating AD. The efficacy of ASIT in AD patients has been poorly in...
متن کاملAllergen-Specific Immunotherapy with Monomeric Allergoid in a Mouse Model of Atopic Dermatitis
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a widespread and difficult to treat allergic skin disease and is a tough challenge for healthcare. In this study, we investigated whether allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT) with a monomeric allergoid obtained by succinylation of ovalbumin (sOVA) is effective in a mouse model of atopic dermatitis. An experimental model of AD was reproduced by epicutaneous sensitizat...
متن کاملFoxP3 Tregs Response to Sublingual Allergen Specific Immunotherapy in Children Depends on the Manifestation of Allergy
Over the last decades allergic diseases has become a major health problem worldwide. The only specific treatment to date is allergen specific immunotherapy (ASIT). Although it was shown that ASIT generates allergen-tolerant T cells, detailed mechanism underlying its activity is still unclear and there is no reliable method to monitor its effectiveness. The aim of our study was to evaluate ASIT ...
